About the Event

What senior leaders & trustees need to know about digital maturity and how it is core to organisational resilience and effective governance.

It isn’t enough to have a ‘digital’ person on your team and your board. Heritage organisations need all of their leaders and board members to feel confident and informed when it comes to digital and the ways in which it touches all aspects of strategy and delivery.

This free, NLHF funded, 3 hour in-person workshop is for leaders and trustees of heritage organisations*.

During the pandemic digital technologies, processes and services were pushed to centre-stage as never before. Despite this, many heritage organisations are struggling to keep up in a world where digitally-enabled behaviours, services and business models are driving fast-moving and fundamental change. The danger here is that your organisation risks becoming irrelevant and left behind in our digital age.

This inspiring and discursive session is tailored to the level of strategic understanding that board members, directors and senior leadership need, helping you to reflect and re-frame your leadership.

The workshop, part of The National Lottery Heritage Fund’s Digital Skills for Heritage initiative, will give you the vocabulary, framing and understanding you need for digitally literate leadership and governance. It will also help you connect with peers and better understand your role in developing a digitally confident team and organisation that can more effectively deliver on its mission.

Designed and led by Culture24 the workshop will feature guest speakers, presentations, discussions and collaborative activities. Afterwards, we’ll follow up with a set of digital resources to help you build on the thinking you begin in the workshop.

After the workshop we’d be delighted if you could stay for an extra hour (from 6 -7pm) to enjoy networking, drinks and a chance to view the collection.

The session will be hosted by Anra Kennedy, Partnerships Director, Culture24. Anra specialises in digitally literate leadership work with heritage and arts organisations in the UK and internationally.

* The workshop is designed for medium (10+ FTE), large and extra-large heritage organisations. If you’re from a smaller heritage organisation the Digital Skills for Heritage initiative has developed a wide range of events and resources designed for you.
