About the Event

The impact of COVID-19 on schools and museums resulted in a move to online, remote learning for pupils and teachers. Following the findings of a national teacher survey held last summer, in November 2020, National Museums Scotland established a new programme of Digital Schools Sessions. Between November and December 2020, we delivered 22 live online schools workshops. Following the second closure of museums and the move to learning from home in January 2021, we adapted this offer to pre-recorded sessions.

To assist us in assessing the impact and reach of our sessions, we have been working with Evaluation and Visitor Engagement Freelancer Brandy Frazier to evaluate a range of data including:

  • Returns to our teachers’ survey
  • Booking information
  • Comments and attendee information capturing during live sessions
  • Other feedback including emails and posts on social media

The report sets out the key findings, and suggestions for the future.

Join us to hear more about how we developed and delivered a programme of Digital Schools Sessions and for a discussion on the findings of the evaluation with an opportunity to ask questions. We will also share techniques and approaches we have used to gather feedback from teachers.

The event will be delivered by

  • Sarah Cowie, Engagement Manager, National Museums Scotland
  • Helyn Long, Enabler Supervisor, National Museums Scotland
  • Brandy Frazier, Evaluation and Visitor Engagement Freelancer

This event will be hosted via Zoom, with an invite sent to you after signing up.
