About the Event

Talking Partnerships: Partnerships for resilience with Sarah Burry-Hayes and Emma Halford-Forbes.

As part of our NLHF funded Forum Connections project, MGS is organising a series of online events entitled Talking Partnerships. These will explore various elements of partnership working and aim to highlight best practice, provide an opportunity for networking throughout the museum and wider heritage sector, and provide a platform for information resource sharing.

In increasingly lean and unpredictable times, partnerships can be a meaningful support for organisations. Sarah and Emma will talk about University Museums in Scotland (UMIS) and Industrial Museums Scotland (IMS), looking at how partnerships can strengthen organisations by sharing experiences, pooling resources and amplifying advocacy. They’ll talk about everything from developing strategy to the practicalities, plus give Top Ten Tips for a successful partnership, as well as touching on how they feel the current digital climate has provided increased opportunities for working in partnership. They’ll finish with a Q&A session chaired by Fiona Thornton, President of the Scottish Museums Federation.
