The UK Accreditation Partnership: Arts Council England; Museums Galleries Scotland; Northern Ireland Museums Council and the Welsh Government are seeking a new Chair of the Accreditation Committee.

Accreditation is the industry standard for museums and galleries the length and breadth of the UK. The Accreditation Committee makes decisions about the Accreditation status of museum participants and advocates for the value of the scheme which supports museums to develop.

We are keen to hear from a wide range of museum professionals from across the UK with good chairing skills, a depth of understanding about museums and their impact and a breadth of perspective about the range of museums which participate. Disabled and/or neurodivergent people and those from Black, Asian and Ethnically Diverse backgrounds are currently under-represented on the Committee so we particularly encourage applications from people in these groups.

This is an exciting time to join – as the scheme helps museums to reset and face the future from a strong and sustainable foundation.

The formal appointment is made by the Chair of Arts Council England, advised by the UK Accreditation Partnership.
