About the Event
This is Milk is working with Museums Galleries Scotland to understand the long-term role of "Digital" in the future of the museum sector and the range of skills that are needed to equip staff to be best prepared for that future.
In order to investigate the various aspects, impacts, uses and needs of the sector we are holding a day of interactive workshops that will offer heritage sector professionals the opportunity to directly input into the direction of travel, topics and themes to be looked at in detail.
It is critical that the we have engagement from the whole heritage sector to inform the route MGS takes when programming future skills delivery. MGS therefore invites all those working or volunteering in the heritage sector to be a part of the day, bringing with you your experience, expertise and thinking in this area. This session is designed to appeal to organisations spanning the entire heritage sector and we aim to attract board members, curators, senior managers, practitioners aspiring leaders, volunteers and support staff to take part.
The day will be comprised of several topic lead sessions where all delegates are actively involved in feeding into the topics and collectively leading on the direction for travel MGS will take.
Outcome of the day?
Based on the findings from the day This is Milk will create a summary report advising MGS of the next steps it needs to take and how best to close the skills gaps that may be found.
