National Lottery Heritage Fund Committee members

National Lottery Heritage Fund Committee members

Closing Date: 5pm Friday, 6th August 2021

The National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) in Scotland is recruiting for two new Committee members and particularly welcomes those with knowledge and experience of museums and visitor attractions in Scotland, as well as community heritage including young people and underrepresented audiences.

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with an enthusiasm and commitment to heritage and the good outcomes that heritage delivers for communities and people to become involved in The Fund’s work. The role will give you experience in grant-giving, consensual decision-making. As one of the only UK-wide lottery funders, being a NLHF Committee member will give you a unique insight into how a national organisation works and give you experience of working towards one national strategy whilst also striving to achieve local priorities.  If you are excited about helping ensure that heritage is inclusive and accessible to everyone, for now and future generations, then the NLHF want to hear from you.

The role is renumerated and has an annual salary of £3,000 plus expenses, and with the opportunity to continue to hold virtual meetings they welcome applications from the length and breadth of Scotland.

You can find out more about this opportunity through NLHF Twitter Q&A on 27th July 1-2pm (@HeritageFundSCO on twitter), and a ‘Meet and Greet’ with the Scotland Committee Chair and Director on 3rd August 1:30 - 2:30pm.

“Being able to see the scope of exciting, clever projects out there and meet some of those passionate activists for their communities has been energising and fills me with hope for the future.” - Liz Davidson, Committee member for Scotland.

Interviews are expected to take place on 30th September 2021.

Closing Date: 5pm Friday, 6th August 2021

NLHF want their funding to be more inclusive and their Committee to be representative of wider society, and are particularly encouraging applications from underrepresented groups such as people from black, Asian and diverse ethnic backgrounds, people who identify as disabled or with long-term health conditions, people who identify as LGBTQIA+ or people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
