Introduction to Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH)
Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) is a tradition, practice, or living expression of a group or community. In Scotland, we use an inclusive approach to ICH which respects the diversity of Scotland's communities. We refer to 'ICH in Scotland' rather than 'Scottish ICH'.
Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Community Stories Programme
This is an overview of the ICH support that was available to organisations funded through the Year of Stories 2022 Community Stories Fund and its impacts. It includes links to useful training videos, case studies and listings on the ICH Scotland website.
Folklore and Intangible Cultural Heritage in Scotland Event
In December 2021, the Folklore Museums Network, Historic Environment Scotland, and Museums Galleries Scotland hosted a collaborative online workshop looking at the identification, interpretation, and collection of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Intangible Cultural Heritage Symposium Event
In November 2015, MGS partnered with Traditional Arts and Cultural Scotland and Creative Scotland to organise an International Symposium on the role of Intangible Cultural Heritage in identities and sustainable community development.
