MGS seeks participants for new Board Development Programme

Places available for ten Independent museum boards to take part in new development programme

MGS inviting applications to take part in a new Board Development opportunity

Museums Galleries Scotland is offering ten Independent museum boards the opportunity to take part in a new Board Development Programme. MGS has partnered with the Social Enterprise Academy to fund and create this 18-month programme which will benefit boards at any stage of their development.

Participants will be supported to collectively identify key areas that require focus and to identify and undertake actions on to address. A new museum boards network will be established, and MGS will offer opportunities for knowledge exchange and peer support.

By the end of the course the participants attendees should have increased awareness of governance good practice and of the opportunities available to support this. It is hoped that the Boards will be more resilient and confident about their future. This programme will really benefit boards who are looking to develop more vigorous processes and manage change within their organisations.

The deadline for applications is Monday 21 January 2019. Read here for full details.
